Armstrong Siddeley motor cars - How many are there?

Cars bearing the Siddeley name were manufactured in Coventry from 1902 to 1960. In all, approximately 78,000 cars were produced in that time. Of these vehicles, the owners club have records of 3,381 cars that were known to still exists as at August 2005. A number of members' cars appear in the "Gallery"

Known cars include:-

Post World War Two manufacture:-

16/18hp cars including Hurricanes, Typhoons, Lancasters, Whitley, Station and Utility Coupes, Limousines and Landaulettes = 932

346 Sapphires, Mk1 & Mk 2 including Limousines = 1112

234 & 236 Sapphires = 214

Star Sapphires including Limousines = 377

Total of post World War Two cars remaining = 2635

Pre World War Two manufacture:-

Siddeley Specials = 22

18hp = 18

20hp = 81

20/25 = 30

15hp = 71

17hp = 118

14hp 4 cylinder = 67

12hp = 162

12plus = 23

14hp 6 cylinder = 75

16hp = 38

Total cars between 1919 and 1939 remaining = 705

Other cars (Pre World War One):-

30hp = 8

Siddeley = 9

Siddeley Deasy = 6

Wolesley Siddeley = 9

Stoneleigh = 2

Armstrong Whitworth = 7

Total remaining cars pre 1914 = 41

The above list totals to 3381 vehicles as at August 2005. ASOC are aware that a small number of vehicles have been dismantled since the date of the list and it is possible that there may be cars, particularly overseas, that the club is not aware of but this list puts the survival rate in a correct 'ball park'

This number of vehicles means that ASOC is able to maintain a viable spare parts service and to support the many owners that there are world-wide although, naturally, nobody can expect to find a full range of spares for  the more elderly cars, after all, some of them are now centenarians.
